Mr. Adrian Florea is the President-Director General of the Romanian Qitaky Foundation - the Romanian Institute for the Development of Human Potential and of the Romanian Qigong Association, as well as Grandmaster of the World Qigong Federation, an organization based in San Francisco that includes Qigong masters and specialists from all over the world.
Reporter: What is this Qigong that you are offering to the tourists staying at the NATURALIAS Hotel?
Adrian Florea: The word Qigong is composed of two Chinese words: qi (read ci) = vital energy and gong(read kung) = art, mastery. Therefore, the name of this ancient Chinese discipline, with an over 8000-year history, translates as the art of vital energy. It is a truly multidisciplinary science that allows practitioners to preserve or recover their health, to improve their physical and intellectual abilities (logical thinking, making fast and correct decisions, technical, scientific, artistic and literary creativity, etc.), to reach their mental and energetic harmony, to permanently adapt to objective weather and social-economic conditions.
R.: How many Grandmasters are there in Romania and how many are there in the World Qigong Federation?
A.F : For the moment, I am the only one in Romania to have that title. There are 7 more Grandmasters in the World Federation: 6 are Chinese and 1 is Thai.
R.: Therefore, the tourists enrolling in the health preservation programs designed and coordinated by you will have access to unique privilege in Romania and a rare treat in the world. What can you offer to tourists visiting the NATURALIAS Hotel?
A.F.: Each group of tourists will be enrolled in a 7-day program, during which they will be diagnosed - using the specific methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine - they will be initiated to the basic philosophy and techniques of Qigong (in theory and practice), they will learn how to eat a health diet and how to turn their food into delicious medicine to cure their diseases, they will also benefit from physiotherapy (if they need it) and they will be able to do fitness exercises on state-of-the-art equipment, they will be assisted to improve awareness of their role in their families and in society at large, of every individual's importance for the progress of humanity. After these 7 days of active holidays, the tourists will be submitted to a new assessment, and they will be able to evaluate their own physical and spiritual progress. They can even return home with a totally new lifestyle.
R.: Shall we take it that the tourists are going to become a sort of... Chinese, that they will need to adopt the Chinese lifestyle?
A.F.:Obviously not. The World Qigong Federation was most appreciative of our work and validated QITAKY Qigong as an original style. In creating Qitaky Qigong, my major endeavour was to perform a perfect adaptation of this ancient discipline to Western, and more specifically, Romanian traditions and typical features.
