Programs
All the programs of the Qitaky Foundation are coordinated by Adrian Florea, Qigong Grandmaster, specialist in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Feng Shui.
Initiation to Qigong – the Art of Controlling Vital EnergyMotto: “The science and art of healing requires self-awareness. Achieving self-awareness requires Qigong.”
Qigong (Chi Kung) is an ancient art that has been practiced in China for over 7000 years. However, according to ancient Chinese document, the art appears to have existed for much longer, an idea captured by the following metaphor: “Qigong is as old as creation itself”. Qigong practice is mainly aimed at improving people’s physical and mental health, and thereby, developing their spirit, seen as an expansion of the field of human perception. The two objectives related to health and spirit can be reached by regular training and energy practice, in order to get the body used to circulating energy and to controlling the energy flow. Qigong may be practiced anytime, by anyone, at any age and without any previous training.
The courses is open to anyone, irrespective of age and education, and it conveys the essential knowledge required for correct understanding and fast progress in Qigong practice. In a clear, accessible language, using Romanian notions, the course provides an explanation for the basic notions of Qigong:
Duration: 6 days (six 3-hour sessions, one per day).
Therapies in Traditional Chinese MedicineTraditional Chinese Medicine has been guided for over 8000 years by the following principle: matter is generated by energy. Consequently, the human body is supported by its energetic structure, organized by meridians. The system can be accessed from the outside by means of 365 acu-points, using the techniques of acupuncture, reflexology, therapeutic massage and/or instruments similar to conventional physiotherapy. The circulation of vital energy along the meridians can be regulated internally by means of a controlled diet and/or physical and mental exercises specially devised for the purpose.
The therapeutic methods applied at the Qitaky clinic fall within those limits, without however excluding therapies typical of conventional medicine, as the latter most often works as an excellent complement. Yet it is important to emphasize that the non-conventional therapeutic methods used by the specialists of the Foundation have proved to provide solutions, in a satisfactory number of cases, to diseases that are generally considered to be incurable, such as: vasculitis, ankylopoietic spondilitis, pigmentary retinopathy, chronic kidney failure, Meniere’s syndrome, Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and others.
The therapeutic methods applied include the following: energy transfer and balancing, magnet therapy, electro-acupuncture, Chinese therapeutic massage (Tuina), aromatherapy, herbology (phytotherapy), diet therapy. These methods have acquired scientific recognition at the International Congresses of the Hong Kong Medical Academy – sponsored by the traditional British medical school; these methods have not been formally endorsed by the Romanian Ministry of Health so far.
Consultation and treatment: on a permanent basis, on the premises of the Romanian Qitaky Foundation
Chinese Therapeutic Massage – TuinaIn the wide range of traditional Chinese therapeutic methods, massage holds an important place, since it can be applied to treat over 120 internal diseases, such as gastrointestinal, hepatic and biliary, cardiovascular and gynecological diseases, paralysis and hemiplegia, orthopedic trauma, arthritis, postnatal disorders and many others.
The most advanced chapter of Chinese massage therapy is represented by Tuinaology. Working on the meridians in the human energy system, accessed through several points located on the body surface, Tuina massage proves to be extremely effective. Improved therapeutic results can be obtained by applying a set of special techniques.
It is important to mention, however, that massage therapy on its own can rarely cure a disease. For best results, it needs to be used in conjunction with other methods, such as: diet therapy, vibratory massage with infrareds, magnet therapy, exposure to polarized light, energy transfer and/or herbology (phytotherapy).
The Romanian Qitaky Foundation is the only institution in Romania issuing certificates in Tuinaology. The Foundation organizes introductory courses in Tuinaology, followed by practical seminars, under the direct guidance of Master Adrian Florea, whose competence in the field was certified by the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, subordinated to the Chinese Ministry of Health.
Those wishing to be certified have to meet the very high requirements of their Master; as a result, certificate holders possess a very high level of both theoretical and practical knowledge. This is why they are highly appreciated by the patients they treat, the services of the foundation being currently used also by several Chinese and Japanese residents. Graduates of this course are in great demand at the specialized massage centers or the nature therapy centers.
Duration: 3 days (three 3-hour sessions, one per day), complemented by the practical seminars.
Chinese Nutrition and Diet TherapyMotto: “Let your food be your cure”
The first systematic presentation of the traditional Chinese nutrition system, developed over 5000 years ago, was made by Sun Shu Mao, in some writings dating back to the year 652 AD. The system differs from its Western counterpart in several essential points. The Western system classifies food according to the nutritional factors it contains and its energy value (calories) and bans the consumption of certain food types for people suffering from particular diseases.
As different from that, the Chinese system classifies food according to the following defining elements: the 5 fragrances, the 5 energies, the movements generated in the human body, regular and organic actions.
Therefore, the Chinese system aims both at securing a balanced and healthy diet, and at curing diseases by means of food.
The course presents the calculation methods, unpublished so far, that an individual can apply in order to develop a personalized diet, according to their personal data and the season, in order to improve their health, while eating tasty and nutritious foods.
The course is open to all participants, irrespective of age and education. Participants in the course will acquire the knowledge they need to determine their own type, to calculate their personal index, as well as the total index of the food making up an individualized balanced diet.
Duration: 2 days (two 3-hour sessions, one per day).
Introductory Course to Feng Shui
Feng Shui in an ancient Chinese tradition going back over 4000 years, that defines the principles and practical means whereby all human activity can be harmonized with the environment. A good Feng Shui (literal meaning: “Wind and Water”) is obtained if an individual achieves balance with the energies of the five fundamental elements in nature: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.
The course presents the calculation methods, unpublished so far, whereby individuals can harmonize their relationship with the environment, according to their personal data.
The principles and practical methodology presented in the course provide a welcome complement to the specialist knowledge of architects, builders or interior designers. The course is open, however, to all those interested, irrespective of their background.
Participants acquire the knowledge they need to practice Feng Shui, such as: how to define the geographical directions favourable for the planning, designing and decoration of a house, or how to create the appropriate work space at the office.
Duration: 4 days (four 3-hour sessions, one per day).
Therapeutic use of sexual energyMotto: “Sexual energy: a fountain of health”
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the sexual glands are also known as the second pair of kidneys, or the external kidneys. This is so because both the shape, and the manipulation of vital energy at the level of the ovaries/testicles are very similar to those of the kidneys. There are many things that the Western world does not know about the way in which the energy of the sexual glands should be managed, in order to become a “bearer medication”.
According to Chinese masters, the energy contained in the space of the sexual glands has 10 times the concentration of the energy circulating along the meridians or transported by the blood, therefore it is also called the blood butter. If directed to the cerebral cortex, it is capable of stimulating neuron activity, and in time it can improve the individual intellectual abilities.
The special techniques for recirculating sexual energy along certain meridians and for directing it to specific body parts are the long-kept secrets Eastern wise men used for increasing their longevity, healing or improving certain conditions, delaying or even eliminating the effects of menopause and andropause.
The slowing down of the aging process depends to a large extent on the individual’s capacity to secrete sexual hormones. The exercises for directing sexual energy may help not only to increase the number of sexual hormones, but also to convert sexual hormones into other hormones.
Consequently, women who have suffered ovariectomies or total hysterectomies can regain their hormonal balance by practicing these exercises. Beside improving the libido and sexual potential, they can also provide a cure to primary sterility.
This initiation to the art of circulating sexual energy with therapeutic purposes is open to all those interested, beginning with the age of 18, and it is equally useful to both men and women.
Duration: 3 days (three 3-hour sessions, one per day).
Course for future parentsThe course is addressed to both members of a couple wishing to have a child (therefore the presence of both partners is mandatory). The program focuses on the attitude of the parents-to-be that they need to adopt in the prenatal period, without being strictly related to their sexual life. The program consists of special exercises in Qigong and in behaviour as part of a couple.
The benefits of the program include an important reduction of the risks related to intrauterine development and the postnatal period, also contributing to the child’s harmonious intellectual and psychological development.
